The 9th CAER-IFPRI Annual Conference: Agricultural Competitiveness in China-Assessment, Challenge and Options October 18-20, 2017, Beijing, China

CAER is delighted to announce its 9th annual conference in 2017 in collaboration with International Food Policy Research Institute
(IFPRI). The theme of 2017 conference is on exploring the assessment, challenge and options of
agricultural competitiveness in China
. Internationally and nationally renowned scholars will be
invited to present and discuss their insights at the conference. More than 100 researchers from
China and around the world is anticipated to participate. China Agricultural Economic Review (CAER) is an academic journal published by Emerald in association with China Agricultural University (CAU) and listed as one of the SSCI (Social Science
Citation Index) and SCIE (Science Citation Index Expanded) journals.

Submission Guidelines

  • Please format the submission following the
  • Please submit your manuscript or session proposal on
  • All submissions will be evaluated by two independent reviewers with respect to their: (a)
    relevance of the topics and potential for discussion, (b) originality, (c) academic quality and (d)
    clarity of exposition.
  • Author(s) of the accepted papers, or at least one of them, are required to register and present
    their work at the conference.

Registration Fee

  • RMB 800 (Chinese Currency), including entrances to the sessions, badge, conference program,
    printed proceedings, coffee breaks, welcome reception, and meals during the conference. The
    registration fee will be paid at the conference registration desk. No Registration Fee for one student
    with one accepted paper


  • The conference will compile a proceedings for reference, and the organizing committee, lead by the Guest Editors, Prof Justin Yifu Lin and Prof Yong Wang, will select and recommend the high-quality submitted papers to be published in a special issue in the China Agricultural Economic Review (CAER) journal.



  • English. No simultaneous language interpretation will be provided.


We will award best papers presented at the conference and the most cited paper published in CAER.
The award winner will receive a certificate and a RMB 5,000 prize.
