Meditari Accountancy Research Conference 2017

Global Perspectives in Accounting Research

Meditari Accountancy Research, the international refereed journal, has always promoted broader and innovative approaches to accounting research, including taking a global perspective. We invite accounting academics from all geographic areas to join us at the conference in 2017 to share ideas on a variety of accounting research topics. Apart from presenting your own paper in a parallel session and getting feedback, the plenary speakers will challenge you to consider innovative research perspectives.

Plenary Speakers of the Conference

Professor Charles Cho

Charles Cho.Charles Cho is Professor of Accounting and Erivan K. Haub Chair in Business and Sustainability at the Schulich School of Business, York University in Toronto, Canada. He holds a PhD in Business Administration (Accounting Track) from the University of Central Florida. He is also a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified General Accountant (CGA), and worked for KPMG LLP. His research interests are Social and Environmental Accounting; Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR); and Accounting and the Public Interest. Professor Cho has published many articles in the top accounting journals, such as AOS, AAAJ, CPA, EAR, and JBE, and was an invited author of chapters in several books.

Professor Steven Dellaportas

Steven Dellaportas.Steven Dellaportas is a Fellow of CPA Australia a Professor of Accounting in the School of Accounting, RMIT University, Melbourne, Australia. Steven is the lead author of two textbooks, the most recent titled: Principles of Ethics and Corporate Governance in Financial Services, published by McGraw Hill, 2012. Steven's primary area of research is professional ethics and he has published many articles in peer reviewed journals such as Journal of Business Ethic, AAAJ, etc.

Conference Information

Day 1: (29th Sep/Fri)

Day 2: (30th Sep/Sat)

Conference Sessions (Morning and Afternoon) at in Nishinomiya, and Conference Gala Dinner (Evening)

Day 3: (1st Oct/Sun)

Kyoto (or Himeji) Day Trip (Attendee's registration will be requested in advance)

Conference Fees

Each participant will be charged 25,000 yen (around 220 Euro) as the conference fee at the registration desk on the conference day. For security reasons, credit card information will be a required field during the registration process on the website/email/fax. However this conference fee would be charged only in the event that participants do not officially cancel in time. The form of credit card information will be provided in the conference website. Call for papers

Scientific committee will accept submission dealing with any accounting related topics area and encourage the use of innovative methods. Papers should be submitted on the journal’s online submission system ), choosing “Meditari Conference” in step 4 of the submission process. Submission deadline is 15 July 2017. Feedback will be emailed authors by 30 August 2017.

Access to campus

The Nishinomiya Uegahara Campus is located about halfway between Kobe and Osaka in the city of Nishinomiya.
