Aims and Scope

The American Journal of Business (AJB) is a journal dedicated to publishing theoretical, conceptual, applied and fundamental research in the business fields.  Our goal is to provide readers with valuable articles that inform business practice. AJB provides researchers with an avenue to make significant contributions to key issues in business. The journal encourages ground-breaking submissions that lay the foundation for continued investigations.

In addition the AJB provides researchers with opportunities to tie current trends in business, research and practice together through rigorous research methodologies. In-depth perspectives are offered by leading business professionals and by business school deans through the Dean's Forum.

Topics covered in the American Journal of Business include:

  • Accounting
  • Business Ethics and Law
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Finance
  • Human Resources
  • Information Systems
  • International Business
  • Management
  • Marketing
  • Organizational Behavior
  • Operations and Supply Chain Management
  • Strategy

AJB welcomes replications of empirical studies of key works in all fields of business which offer new managerial insights and research notes. Research notes, are shorter than a regular research article in the journal, can consist of research findings that do not warrant a full article.  The journal also welcomes reasoned opinion and commentary articles from executives.

Manuscripts should be embedded in the contemporary literature, and initial review and acceptance will be predicated on clear and logical theory building for conceptual work and methodological adequacy for empirical work, citation of contemporary sources, relevance of the research and applications being clearly discussed, and compliance with the formatting, citation, and reference style of the AJB.
