Academia Revista Latinoamericana de Administración 30th Anniversary Special Issue

Special issue call for papers from Academia Revista Latinoamericana de Administración

What's the issue about?

In 2017, Academia will celebrate 30 years at the forefront of business research in Latin America, and ten years since the journal’s inclusion in the prestigious Social Sciences Citation index. To mark this occasion, the editorial team are pleased to announce the publication of a special anniversary issue.

Topics of interest

We would like to invite authors and guest editors from issues past and present, particularly those of the most highly-cited articles, to contribute to this issue. We also invite scholars willing to contribute comparative reviews (i.e. meta-analyses) of the state-of-the-art in a particular field or discipline within a regional (i.e. Latin America, Spain or Portugal) context.
The journal’s coverage encompasses business economics, capital markets and banking, corporate finance and governance, corporate social responsibility, strategic and public management, management, marketing, organizational theory and behaviour, strategy and entrepreneurship, operations management, information systems, regional management, and human resource management. Some examples of articles for this special issue include the following:

  • Internationalization strategy of Latin American firms: a meta-analys
  • Trends in business education in Spain and the world
  • Family business governance in Chile
  • Cases and qualitative research: trends and opportunities
  • Information Technology and systems: a meta-analysis
  • Operations management
  • Knowledge Management and Innovation in Brasil

Papers will have an emphasis on conceptual quality and rigor of analysis. A typical framework would be:
a) The state of the art in the specific field or question, the predominant schools, dilemmas, research debates and conceptualization of the problem;
b) The trends in the literature and understanding of the field;
c) Theoretical, methodological and practical implications.
The analysis should not just take into consideration the literature of the mainstream but also the regionally-focused literature (like Latin America or Spain).

Submission Process & Guidelines

  • Please send your proposal to the Guest Editor of this issue ([email protected]) with a one-page plan for the article; he will offer feedback and coordinate proposals
  • The deadline for submissions is April 30, 2017, whereupon we will operate a double-blind peer-review process.
  • Contributions are accepted in English, Portuguese and Spanish, and will be published in the original language plus an English translation
