Emerald Partnership Award 2007

Awards for Excellence

It is our pleasure to announce that the recipient of the Emerald Partnership Award for 2007 is INASP (The International Network for the Availability of Scientific Publications). This partnership, signed in early 2003, allows educational, teaching and research institutions in developing and transitional countries to access Emerald’s high quality scholarly research, at greatly reduced prices, through PERI (Programme for the Enhancement of Research Information).

The country base is growing year on year and in 2006 the following 11 countries were able to access Emerald content under this agreement for the first time:

  • Bolivia
  • Malawi
  • Tanzania
  • Ethiopia
  • Nepal
  • Uganda
  • Ghana
  • Pakistan
  • Zimbabwe
  • Kenya
  • Rwanda

And, in addition to the above, Lesotho has requested access for 2007.

Lucy Barton, Head of Information Delivery at INASP said:

"Emerald is regarded as a highly valued resource amongst the developing countries in which INASP is active. It has been an excellent partnership to date, expanding the choice of materials available to the institutions we work with, and also helping to promote sustainable access to scholarly publications".
